Preparing Kids for the Winter - it has been years since our area has seen cold weather as we are seeing this winter season. Please take a moment to read some preparation tips from aboutkidshealth.ca.
Inner (Base) layer: The skin should be covered in a thin layer that helps to move moisture away from the body. Keeping your skin dry helps keep you warm and comfortable. Your inner layer should cover almost your whole body: arms, legs and torso. Polyester and silk, and related modern materials are best. Cotton is a poor choice. Middle layer: This is the insulating layer. Wool and fleece work best.
It is also a good idea to attach tabs to zippers so they can be opened and closed without exposing the hand.
NEW AUTOMATED TELEPHONE SYSTEM
As part of this process, many of the district's internal extensions will be eliminated and replaced with new extensions. Telephone numbers for our schools and key district departments are remaining the same.
The new system will allow us to better serve our school community by guiding you through a series of menus to the right individual. All of the district teachers will have voice mail enabled extensions to better communicate with parents and caregivers. Additionally, new features such as an automated absentee notification as well as an automated alert system will also be available.
In order to reach our new automated system, simply dial (570) 826-7111 and follow the prompts.
